This free take-home pay calculator estimates your net pay by subtracting federal income tax, Social Security (6.2%), and Medicare (1.45%) from your gross earnings. Enter your salary, choose your pay frequency and filing status, and instantly see your annual, monthly, biweekly, and weekly take-home amounts. Built with the 2026 federal tax brackets and standard deduction for accurate results.
How This Calculation Works
Your salary is converted to an annual amount based on your selected pay period. The 2026 standard deduction ($16,100 for single filers, $32,200 for married filing jointly) is subtracted to determine your taxable income. Federal income tax is calculated using the progressive bracket system. Social Security tax (6.2%) is applied to earnings up to $184,500, and Medicare tax (1.45%) is applied to all earnings. The total of these deductions is subtracted from your gross pay to determine your take-home pay across all pay frequencies.
